Restoration of Pittville Gates

Pittville Gates form the entrance to Pittville Park and are situated at the end of Winchcombe Street, leading to Pittville Lawn.  They are listed Grade ll by English Heritage.

The Gates are in very poor condition, the surroundings are not in sympathy with their grandeur, and the surfaces on both sides of the gates are unattractive.  Restoration of the Gates and renewal of the area were high on the list at the time of the Heritage Lottery bid in 2008.  Friends of Pittville has decided to build on the work done for the bid and is about to embark on a long-term project to restore Pittville Gates.
