September 2010 update
We have formed a sub-committee which will meet regularly to review progress – this consists of our chairman, secretary, a cop-opted committee member Cllr. Diane Hibbert, and two others, Judie Hodsdon and Andy Hopkins, who, we hope, will be elected onto the committee at our AGM in October 2010. Both have relevant experience as project manager and stonemason respectively. We would like to add one more person, ideally with architectural or landscape design experience. If you have this experience and would be interested in learning more, please e-mail the Hon Secretary.
We successfully applied for an HM Revenue and Customs charity number, which will help us when we apply for funding to some charities and other funding bodies. It also enables us to claim Gift Aid on membership fees and other financial contributions. We have written a ‘vision’ statement which sets out what we would like to achieve and how it might be achieved. We are using this vision to have some drawings done which will give people an idea of how the Gates and surrounding area might look. It is not the final word on what might happen - many other steps must be completed, including Planning. This document will also be useful in some of the applications for funds.
