Elected Members

Chairman - Judy Langhorn

Judy has lived in the Pittville area since 1962, during which time Pittville Park has been an appreciated amenity for her family. She was a Head of Department at Cheltenham Ladies' College, where she taught for fourteen years.

Secretary - Fiona Clarke

Fiona has been Secretary of Friends of Pittville since May 2009.  She moved to Cheltenham in April 2006, from Manchester, where she worked for eleven years in the British Council’s HQ there.  Prior to that, she was in the London HQ and overseas as an education and information specialist and senior manager for many years.

Treasurer - Frances Gabriel

Frances has been a Pittville resident since 2003.  Before retirement she taught Community Health in Canadian and UK universities.

Christopher Archibald

Chris is a retired chartered civil engineer who settled in Cheltenham in January 2007. He has a wide experience of infrastructure design, working closely with landscape architects, and is currently Chairman of the Gloucester & Cheltenham City Group of the Institution of Civil Engineers. His interests are family, gardening, painting and golf.

Judie Hodsdon

Judie has been a Cheltenham resident since the early 1970s, moving to Pittville in 2001. She retired in summer 2009 from a senior position in GCHQ.

David Richards

David, now retired, worked for C&G as an underwriter.  He has held a number of honorary positions in Cheltenham Horticultural Society and is the founder and current member of Cheltenham in Bloom Committee. He is a judge for gardens competitions and local schools nature gardens and a member of the RHS and three specialist plant societies. His main concern is to reverse the long-term trend of reducing expenditure on parks and gardens at a time when they are getting more and more use.

Henry Williams

Henry was born in Pittville and has lived here nearly all his life. He was brought up in a house, built as a detached house in 1800, for the Williams family in Portland Square. His grandfather and great-grandfather were carpenters, who worked on many of the fine houses in Pittville. Henry served 30 years as a fireman and now runs his own property maintenance business. He is active in the local church community, and was involved with the restoration of St Pauls Church stone work. He is also interested in photography, travelling (often as a guide on coach holidays), and the history of Cheltenham.

Co-opted Members

Desmond Fitzgerald, Park Watch

Desmond has lived in the Pittville area for more than 30 years.  He set up and co-ordinates the local Neighbourhood Watch (NhW) and introduced a Park Watch Scheme for Pittville Park.

Cllr Diane Hibbert, Pittville Ward

Diane has lived in Cheltenham for 36 years. She is a school bursar at a local school and represents the Pittville Area on Cheltenham Borough Council and Gloucestershire County Council.

Cllr Tim Cooper, Pittville ward

Along with his brothers, Tim set up a local company running sales, marketing and promotions. He has further business interests in sports travel and property development businesses.  Tim is a keen cyclist and footballer, and is secretary of Charlton Rovers FC.
